Music

Music in the cave tends to have a digital bias to it. Much of the exploration so far has been in the realm of electronic cellos, virtual analog synths, and talk of a futuristic keyboard called ProHybrid.
A group of us have also put together an event called Experiments in Ambience (EIA). This events focuses on creating music from ambient sounds mixed in with other instruments and video e.g. vj.
But most of all, music is a kind of freedom that shines from within, and interpreted by everyone differently. Music, music, and more music. There is music everywhere, sounds, beats, formants. I think there exists an innate drive in people to create when driven to the opportunity. I think this drive can be taken out ones consciousness very easily and I don't think our institutions do a good job at teaching us what is to create something.
This part of the cave is about music, music in its bare form, electronic music, acoustic music.

    e -cello
The eCello project started 1 year before my wife and I had our first child. It was a miracle of a year, and I hope for many more of those types of years. The project produced P1, for "Prototype-1". This is a simple electronic cello that uses a piezo-based transducer to turn "vibrations" into an analog signal. The signal is then amplified using a simple JFET-based amplifier. The next phase of the project, P2, will introduce a DSP on board the cello that will be used to model various types of resonating bodies.

Experiments in Ambience is an experience were a group of musicians and videographers get together and create and mix music and video. We call this type of performance art “av-scapes” for audio visual scapes.
